Muck ("we", "us") is a restaurant deals discovery app for Ottawa. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Location (when-in-use): We use your location to show nearby deals and identify your neighbourhood. We do not track your location in the background.
• Device identifier: We generate an anonymous ID on your device to associate saves and preferences. This is not linked to your identity unless you sign in.
• Apple Sign In (optional): If you choose to sign in, we receive the name and email address you share through Apple. We use this for your account only.
• Analytics events: We log how the app is used (screens viewed, deals tapped, features used) to improve the product. Events are not tied to your real-world identity.
• Push notification token: If you allow notifications, we store your device push token to send deal alerts.
• Feedback and screenshots: If you submit feedback through the app, we store the text and any screenshot you attach.
• Crash reports: We collect crash data automatically to fix bugs. Crash reports do not include personally identifiable information.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Muck:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• PostHog — product analytics
• Sentry — crash reporting
• Expo — push notifications and app updates

These services process data on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone for their own purposes.

No advertising tracking

Muck does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), does not show ads, and does not participate in ad networks or tracking frameworks.

Data storage

Your data is stored on servers in North America. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.

Your choices

• You can use Muck without signing in. Browsing deals does not require an account.
• You can deny location permission. The app will default to a general area.
• You can deny push notification permission at any time in your device settings.
• To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.

Children

Muck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
